[info-performer] pfExit and Threads

I am having problems with running a performer application in a thread
where I am using shared memory space. pfExit completely exits all the
way to the OS as told about in your bug report in the man page. Is
there a way to simulate the same functions as pfExit, but in a
controlled manner? Like how can i do a pfInit or pfConfig without a
pfExit?
