pfGeoArrays should support generic vertex attributes (a la
glVertexAttribPointerARB in OpenGL). I tried to use them in Performer
3.1 with little success, but they've supposedly gotten better in 3.2,
though I haven't had a chance to try them myself. Look at the
pfGeoArray and the glVertexAttribPointerARB man pages for more details.
Also, if you have the patience, I learned a lot by reading the
specification for ARB_vertex_program at:

It explains how everything fits together pretty well.
