Hi performers,
I'm trying to apply some lighting to just part of a scene graph using the
pfGeoState::setAttr(PFSTATE_LIGHTS, lightArray) functionality but I'm having
some strange effects. Also, there are no real examples on how to do this and
the documentation is limited, so I'm wondering:
- Can this be combined with pfLightSources which illuminate the rest of the
scene? I notice that if I do, then these light sources have unexpectedly
different behaviour. For example, in perfly the "eye" light no longer stays
fixed to the view position.
- Do I have to do any switching on/off myself or is that done automatically?
- If I want this local light position in world or local modelling
coordinates, do I have to turn it on every frame so its position is
transformed correctly?
- In general, is this mechanism suitable for having lighting specific to
parts of a scene graph e.g. seperate interior and exterior lighting? Are
pfLightSources ALWAYS illuminating everything?
Regards, Simon
