Subject: [info-performer] Linux driver problems
I'm having problems with a new system - dual Xeon, GeForce FX3000G
graphics, Red Hat 9 (kernel 2.4.20-6smp), Performer 3.1.1_gcc3 (licensed).
The latest nvidia drivers (6111 and 6106) give me hard lockups when exiting
perfly (always) and occasional lockups on custom Performer apps (when
exiting). I've tried an older driver (5341) that came from PNY and I don't
get the lockups on exit, but I get a long pause (5-10 seconds) while the
application is starting. I've tried disabling AGP, but that doesn't
help. Hyperthreading is also disabled per discussion on nvnews.net linux
forum. I tried it once in single-processor mode and everything worked
fine, but that is not the desired solution.
Does anyone know what the problem may be or what I can try? I have 4
identical systems and I haven't even tried frame locking yet until I work
out these more pressing issues. Is there a driver set that does work in
this configuration?

I have noticed this too. You are not alone. Perfly -m0 is the only way I
can run it. I would like to hear an official position from the Performer
team on this problem. It is very easily reproducable.
Chris
