Performers, Volumizers, Optimizers, and all SIGGRAPH attendees,
Please join us for the OpenGL Performer "Friends of Performer"
Birds-of-a-Feather meeting next Tuesday in Los Angeles, CA at
SIGGRAPH 2004. We'll be discussing the latest news about OpenGL
Performer, showing demos of our upcoming release, sneak previewing
our future Linux visualization technology, and have some wonderful
guest speakers who will be sharing their experiences with you all.
You won't want to miss this. I'm very pleased to announce our
featured guest speaker:
Frank Hartman
Senior Software Engineer and Rover Driver
Mars Exploration Rover Project
Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Frank will give a presentation describing the Rover Sequencing
and Visualization Program (RSVP) and how it is being used to
drive the Spirit and Opportunity rovers on the surface of Mars.
The visualization component of RSVP is based on OpenGL Performer
for realtime rendering and provides multiple rendered views into
a database of martian terrain models fused with rover CAD data and
downlinked telemetry and imagery. Screenshots and animations from
RSVP being used for MER rover surface ops will be presented.
