I've changed tack ... not using pfCompositor calls anymore,
but we're looking at pfMPKImportFile. Still having difficulty
though and we're wondering if anyone knows what exactly this
message means:

PF Warning: MPK Compounds unsupported

This is issued from libpfmpk.

I hope this isn't an indication that Performer can't handle MPK
Compounds - because that's how you describe the compositors!
