Thanks for the reply. Switching to text mode didn't solve the problem but it
allowed me to kill the perfly process and see the messages. The problem
seems to be as follows:-

everything appears normal until ...

PF Notice: _pfcalcVideoRate: Using nanHz video rate.
Segmentation Fault

Anyone got any ideas what is causing this?
