Problem solved... Seems like something went wrong between when I made the
described changes and testing. I was sometimes using Vizserver and then the
overlay planes didn't appear on the remote display. Other vizserver users
beware.

Hi Performers,
I've had the problem that nothing appears in overlay windows for sometime
now. Has anyone else see this? For example, I try doing 'perfly -a "Hello
World"' but I don't see any text in the top-right corner. Thus _used_ to work
but has not worked since pf 3.0 (I think). Yet to try 3.1 to be honest. In my
apps I enable overlay windows with pfPipeWindow::setMode(PFWIN_HAS_OVERLAY,
1) an then do the usual drawing stuff like perfly. Is this sufficient now?
Details: Performer 3.0, IRIX 6.5.21m, Onyx300 IR4
