What does 'glxinfo -t' show for you in column 9? If it's all zeroes,
than it is to be expected that performer cannot give you a stereo visual.
What is your platform?
On SGIs, stereo visuals tend to be always present.
On linux you need a gfx card with a stereo connector.
E.g. on an nvidia with a 3 pins stereo connector, add this to your
XF86Config
Option "Stereo" "3"
to the "Screen" section.
Make sure UBB is disabled, and that you use a crt and NOT a dfp.
I never used stereo on ATI+linux, but that may work too.
