Hello Performers,

I'm very pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of
Performer 3.1.1. This is our regularly-scheduled update containing the many
enhancements & bug fixes made by the team since Performer 3.1 was released.

Downloads for IRIX 6.5.x, 32-bit Linux, and Windows 2000 & XP are all
available from the SGI website. Please visit:

   http://www.sgi.com/software/performer/downloads.html

If you purchased a licensed copy of Performer 3.1, please make a backup copy
of your license file prior to upgrading, just in case. Note that the same
license will work for either 3.1 or 3.1.1.

Here's a list of what's new or fixed in Performer 3.1.1:

804818 - Graphics unresponsive after exiting 'perfly -M2' (IRIX). Fixed.
876079 - DSO with bad BASEADDR in performer product (IRIX) prevented
apps from being able to malloc a large contiguous memory block
         or shared memory arena. Fixed.
903265 - Unable to malloc much space with pf apps (IRIX).
903776 - Added support for event generation in libpr.
905560 - WIN32 flt loader problems with PFLPS_SIZE_MODE. Fixed.
906182 - GeoState incorrectly inherits ALPHAREF when ALPHAFUNC is
         inherited. Fixed.
906330 - geoarrays crash if number of indices is greater than
         0x10000 (Onyx4). Fixed.
906462 - Video rate, stats broken in win32. Fixed.
906884 - Added cullSmallFeature and gprogram to pguide Makefile on IRIX.
908441 - Fixed pfutil input problem with modifiers key state.
908443 - Increased efficiency of cliptexture subloads on ATI cards.
908176 - problem with translucency in pfdBuilder. Fixed.
908204 - MultiTexture broken on Onyx4. Fixed.
908272 - implemented workaround for inefficient cliptex subloads on Onyx4.
909251 - pfGProgram::loadProgram(filename) broken on WIN32. Fixed.
909717 - IRIX 64bit static libs link problem. Fixed.
909937 - Volume data from libpfvz only appears in one window. Fixed.
909945 - Fog problem on ATI-linux. Fixed.
909947 - user data slot problem in 64-bit pfb loader. Fixed.
909951 - Bug in multipipe asdfly sample. Fixed.
909963 - integrate OpenInventor loader on Win32.
910592 - User side WIN32 include file fix for pfMorph.h.
910422 - Added environment variable PF_NO_UNCOMPRESSED_TEXTURE on Onyx4.
910619 - evanalyzer segfaults in event-info display. Fixed.
911332 - Fixed problems with broken pfuTravNodeHlight.
912022 - Fixed csb loader linestrip width bug.
912255 - Missing small-feature-cull sample program on linux.
912312 - Added support for loading opDisCurve3d elements to csb loader.
912325 - Added powerwall support to perfly (-5 option).
912384 - Fix pfdStoreFile_pfb() storing of pfNurbCurve2d and pfNurbCurve3d
         elements.
912649 - complex sample program hang on exit (when using multiprocessing
         on RedHat 9) fixed.
912813 - Fix several samples such that they compile in n64 mode using
         IRIX 7.4 compilers.
912933 - Fix loading of pfParaSurfaces on multi-pipe systems.
912936 - Fix 'Powered by OpenGL Performer' OpenGL errors.
913106 - Improved vsync behavior on RedHat 9 SMP / nvidia, and on
Onyx4 systems using environment variables PF_SYNC_TO_VBLANK
         and _PF_SWAPBUFFERS_BLOCKS.
No ### - Trim-curve tessellation mode override: The method used for
tessellating trim curve associated to pfParaSurfaces can be modified by
setting the environment variable PF_CURVE_TESSELLATION_OVERRIDE to 1. When
this flag is set the curve-specific code used to optimize the speed of
tessellation of trim curves will be bypassed resulting in slightly slower yet
more precise tessellation results.

Now we get started on the next update -- more news as it happens. :-)
