I can confirm this. The new OpenFlight loader has a number of problems.
Unfortunately, this loader is no longer supported by multigen.

I ended up converting every model to .pfb with a older OpenPerformer
version (which has a older, less buggy version of the openflight loader).
This worked great for me.
