[info-performer] pfFrameRate() bug?

According to the pfFrame(3pf) man page: "pfFrameRate
returns the actual frame rate used or -1.0 if it is
called before pfConfig."

This conflicts with my test results; I get a return
value of -1.0 from the call to pfFrameRate() whether
if I put it before or after pfConfig(). Is this a
bug?

I am running IRIX 6.5.20, Performer 3.0, on an
Onyx300.
