[info-performer] Help pfb format

Dear all,
        In a sample code I found a code snippet
                pfdConverterMode("iv", PFIV_FLATTEN, FALSE);
                pfdConverterMode("iv", PFIV_CLEAN, FALSE);

        I think this is for inventor file format.Can anyone please explain
what is the purpose of the above code.?
        Also is there any similar # defines(similar to
PFIV_FLATTEN,PFIV_CLEAN) for pfb format.
