Hi,

Are there any available plug-ins for Max and Maya that will export a
performer model that includes robust shader and animation descriptions?

A few years ago I moved off of Performer, working with game engines as the
rendering environment for my work. The primary reason for this was the
well developed interfaces to the Max and Maya modeling environments-
importing animations, complex shaders, etc...
Downsides are the costs of commercial middleware, and limited to windows
environments. Non-commercial game engines have lacked the completeness of
these commercial approaches.

I've lurked around the performer maillists and FAQ's but haven't seen
anything beyond -"use polytrans" - which I have used, but it doesn't quite
do the job.

TIA,

Sheldon Brown
