[info-performer] Probably a tired ATI question

Does the ATI Rage 64 just stink with Performer, under Linux?
I have had problems with new cards, where the vesa driver was loaded in, but this time the "ati" driver is in.
Performer town runs at about 0.4Hz, and small object run at only a few Hz.

Is there something obvious that I should have bothered to search through the archive for?
