Hi performers,
I have a question regarding texture formats. For performance reason I
would like to use the 5551 texture format combined with mipmap generation.
I use the pficonv utility like with format 10 (PFTEX_UNSIGNED_SHORT_5_5_5_1)
pficonv -f 10 -m tex.rgb tex.pfi
But the result is a greyscale texturing. What's wrong ?
If I use format 3(PFTEX_UNSIGNED_SHORT), it works fine without mipmap
switch.
pficonv -f 3 tex.rgb tex.pfi
But using the mipmap switch I get bad flickering in the far distance mipmap area.
pficonv -f 3 -m tex.rgb tex.pfi
Has anybody some experience with the 5551 format ?
