In ATI's defense, I got a chance to beta-test their upcoming XFree86 4.3 driver on a 9800pro under RedHat9. It's a big improvement over the driver from the German website, which turned out to have some bad texturing problems. It may have a couple small problems, but it seems very useable so far. Last time I asked, it was supposed to be released within the next couple weeks. Let's hope they stick to that schedule.....
