I suspect a mismatch between the version of OpenMotif and the XFree86
version that you have installed. Did you upgrade either since
installing RH8? I have a clean install of RH8 and don't see this.

But without solving the root cause of this problem :-)
There is something you can try: setenv PFDOMOTIF 0

Doing so will tell Performer's makefiles to cut Motif (-lXm) out of the
link line. There are only a few samples that need to link with it e.g.
motif.c, and since it's causing you trouble, might as well pull it out..
