This error is being printed when loading (but failing to load) a .rgb
(texture) file referenced by the PFB. For whatever reason the RGB file
is invalid.

Usually I'd suspect endianness, but the proper "magic value" in an RGB
file is 0732 (according to gl/image.h), and that is not the endian flip
of ffd8. Perhaps crank up your PFNFYLEVEL and see if there are other
messages; or if you know which RGB file it's trying to load, run IRIX
tools like "istat" on the file in question to see if it's correct.
