Offhand remark - that sounds like we're not choosing a good visual. Use
'glxinfo' to choose one for us yourself; and then feed that into perfly
using the -t option.

Usually such problems have to do with data that is not visible from all
the processes which need it; typically static data or something that
needs to be put into shared memory.

Also, remember that the GNU compilers don't initialize variables to
NULL; and that the IRIX compilers allow you to dereference NULL on Onyx
& Octane & Fuel ! (!!)
The debugger and a stack trace will be your best bet.
