if you're just interested in the shader examples, they live in
/usr/share/shader/src. we
(shader) also have an example app which instruments a performer file
with a shader too,
also in the same spot.
that said, yes, there are two bugs in the way shader-in-performer was
implemented, which
cause most shaders on peformer nodes to not work as expected*. however
these are fixed
in 3.0.2, to the best of my knowledge.
if you've got shader-specific questions, feel free to fire them at
info-shader++at++sgi.com...

ps - any shaders you use that just do texturing ops work great. any
that compute
and store intermediate values into the framebuffer work not very well,
to not
at all. but it was a silly mistake, and it's fixed with the forthcoming
3.0.2.
