To compile Performer applications on IRIX you'll need to get the
Performer 3.0 for IRIX CD, which contains performer_dev and other
subsystems.
The CD actually contains all of Performer 3.0 (performer_eoe,
performer_demo, performer_data, and performer_dev) as well as OpenGL
Shader 3.0, Volumizer 2.4, and MPK 2.1.1.
Then on the website (currently) we have the Performer 3.0.1 update which
for IRIX contains performer_eoe & performer_demo. After installing the
CD, install these updates to get the latest fixes.
And in fact, the Performer 3.0.2 update will be releasing very very
shortly. When it's on the website I'll announce it here on info-performer.

Hmm, could be anything. You may want to try just plain "perfly"
(/usr/sbin/perfly) with those same files, to see what happens.
