This is a follow-up to my previous posting (to which there has been no response yet).

I compiled /usr/share/Performer/src/pguide/libpfx/motif.C and ran it with both smooth-shaded and flat-shaded models. Both models were rendered flat-shaded.

Using xwininfo, I got the following relevant info:

  Depth: 24
  Visual id: 0x37
  Visual Class: TrueColor
  Class: InputOutput
  Colormap: 0x5c00019 (installed)

This is the same as my own Motif viewer, described in my previous post: it appears to suffer from the same problems as does mine, perhaps for the same reason (note that the color map is installed whereas a Performer-only viewer does not install the colormap and correctly renders smooth-shaded models).

I saw some postings last week which seem to indicate that there are problems with the Performer framebuffer configuration functions which will be fixed in 3.0.2. Is this problem in that set? Are there any work-arounds until then? Or am I just missing something?

The human brain is only used to 10% of capacity.
The rest is overhead for the operating system.
