Some of the OpenFlight models I've been trying to load in Performer 3 have
not been loading correctly. I'm using Performer 3.0.1 and OpenFlight
Loader R15.7. Items that should be loading with transparency (and used to
load correctly under older versions of Performer) are no longer
transparent. It seems that the loader is completely ignoring the
transparency values in the model. However, if an item has a transparent
material applied to it, it does load correctly and appears transparent.
After further testing, we believe this bug is not in our code and may be
in the loader. We examined the model file directly and the transparency
field has the correct value, thus it seems to us that the loader is not
performing according to the OpenFlight specification. Can anyone else
confirm this problem? Is there a fix available?
I tested this problem with a simple triangle model that should appear
transparent in Performer 3.0.1, but it doesn't. It does appear transparent
when loaded on Performer 2.5 OpenFlight Loader R15.4i. If anyone is
interested in seeing this model, please let me know and I'll e-mail it to
you off-list.
