All,

Everything works now when I use the system sbin/pfconv
so black polygons is probably symptomatic of a
versioning problem. The flt2pfb was probably referencing
an older version.

Sounds like the OpenFlight Loader version that is being called by
flt2pfb is an older version than your OpenFlight File is. That is your
file might be say OpenFlight V.15.7 but the loader that is being used is
15.4, make sure you have the latest loader, or if you have more than one
version on your machine that your not picking up the wrong library etc.

Black polygons are a classic symptom of this

Hi Nick,

 You can use pfconv to convert flt models to pfb:

        pfconv foo.flt foo.pfb

 If you this doesn't work for you then send me a sample model (as small
as
possible) and I'll take a closer look at what's going on (also let me
know what platform and which version of Performer you're using.)
