Yes you can use specific extensions of the underlying OpenGL
implementation in the draw callbacks for the nodes. You
still need to use the common dll runtime binding mechanisms to make them
available.

You can also use pfGeoSetCB to set state. For instance you can have a
group which children is a pfGeoSetCB to set state,
some scene graph nodes and then another pfGeoSetCB to restore state. A
multipath rendering kind of thing.
