For what it is worth I have the same. I have two identical machines both with
a fresh RH 8 install. They are P3 1GHz with NVidia geforce 2, NVidia drivers.

On 1 of the machines I have this problem on the other one not! It is driving
me crazy!

For me the problem seems to be related to rendering of textures. If I turn
those off I don't get the problem anymore, but I get some ugly picture.

If I remove the Nvidia opengl drivers and go back to Mesa hardware rendering
the scenes ARE rendered correctly but this is terribly slow.

Please if anyone knows the sollution post it here or send me an email.
