Hi Marty,

libpfv supports generic xml file reading and writing through the
pfvXmlNode class API.

The contents of any xml file can be converted to a hierarchy of
pfvXmlNode instances through the method pfvXmlNode::parseFile.

pfvXmlNode::parseFile will not carry out DTD (Document Type
Definition) error checking and the parsed files do not have to conform
to any specific DTD.

Many other classes in libpfv (such as pfvDisplayMngr and pfvViewer)
use the pfvXmlNode API extensively to allow xml file configuration.
For each of these classes, all valid xml tag names are listed in the
respective man page.

For many examples of uses of the pfvXmlNode API, please take a look
inside /usr/share/Performer/src/pguide/libpfv

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions regarding libpfv.
Regards,
Paolo
