Hi John,

I understand your pain. :-)
The very, very last chance:

- Convert files with pfconv to pfb.
- Use pfb loader sources to re-implement a loader for pfb.
- Build up an own db to do your processing.

Sounds not very serious, doesn't it?

The best way would be: SGI would insert some macros and would provide
extra libraries for scene graph, geostates, materials, textures, etc.
where all the data are in but no GL/X11/Win stuff. Thus, one could use
it without graphics.
We went this way in our software and it works.

Another idea: Would it be possible to provide an Xserver which cheats?
(I mean an Xserver which provides all X calls but doesn't do any
graphical stuff, may be based on XFree sources)

Anyway. I'm afraid, there is no simple solution for your problem...

Other opinions?

Best regards,
Dirk.
