Hello Andrea and Francesco,
Performer currently only supports rigid-body transformations through
the pfDCS (and pfFSC) nodes, and very limited vertex animation
functionalities through the pfMorph node.
What you seem to require is some kind of vertex skinning technique
in order to animate human characters without 'breaking' their surfaces
when you bend arms and legs.
You may try to implement this in a variety of ways, through software,
or through the use of vertex programs on some video cards.
My advice is to start by looking at the vast ammounts of information
available on the web and in computer graphics/gaming publications.
Take a look at http://www.darwin3d.com/gdm1998.htm#gdm0598
for an example of an OpenGL implementation.
Hope this helps.
A presto,
Paolo

Hi to all,
one of my several doubts is following :
i have an 3d object in obj format ( but it is not influent ). I link this
obj to a parent node pfDCS, that i can move in an easy way setting rotation
and translation.
Moreover I have seen that i can use pfFlux, pfEngine and so on, in order to
give dynamic data to pfGeoSet node. My question is : is it possible to
use a
pfFlux with a 3d Object ?
Now i explain the reason of my curiosity. I have 2 or more 3d object that
have to move in an indipendent way.
I read the moving of each obj file, from an ascii file ( BVH ). I need that
every obj moving is a single process, indipendent from other.
i accept every suggestion.
best regards
Andrea

Hi to all,
i'd like to know if is it posible to deform a 3d object loaded into a pfDCS
node, inside a performer scene graph.
In detail : i have 2 obj file ( obj is a kind of 3d object ) that are
moving. Is it possible to deform one of this to give an idea of a single
object that is moving ?
thank to all!
best regards!
