I had the same thing happen. I put together another standalone test case and
sent it off to the Performer team. They looked at it once, but never solved
the problem.
My only suggestion is to check the sizes of your bounding spheres to ensure
they are not intersecting the view volume or encompassing view point.
It'd be nice to know the internal mechanism to work around it. I'd be
interested if you solve it.
