I just had a look at the source for pfdGeoBuiilder in
/usr/share/Performer/src/lib/libpfdu,
and unfortunately it seems that pfdGeoBuiilder will not compute smooth
vertex normals,
so you would have to implement this yourself.
Do you want to smoothly shade single pfGeoSets, or do you need to
simultaneously shade
several pfGeoSets?
Let me know if you need help with the implementation.
