Now that Performer 3.0 is out the door we're turning our attention to
Performer 3.0.1, our standard quarterly maintenance release. It will
contain bug-fixes [thank you info-performer, keep the bug reports
coming] and a few minor feature enhancements; and is scheduled to
release in mid-march, for all platforms. With the new introduction of
the Windows version we expected for 3.0.1 to be a particularly important
update.

And meanwhile we're also beginning the process for our next major
release, Performer 3.1. We're in the requirements collection phase of
the project. So this means we've been indexing through the feature
requests we've received from users, & those collected in through our
sales & marketing channels and the associated market managers within
SGI; referencing this with the overall SGI product roadmap; and also
going through the results of those user surveys we've been handing out
during Friends of Performer meetings over the past year or two (the
written comments especially).

If folks have requirements and/or feature requests you'd like us to be
aware of, please do send them our way! The most direct route is
performer-feedback++at++sgi.com (this is a private feedback address directly
to us); you're also welcome to post here on info-performer; or for our
larger sites, bring them to the attention of your SGI account rep or
sales rep.

I have intentionally not listed the specific features we're planning,
here in this message; it's a little too early along in the process. But
if there are folks who need to make decisions now based on our direction
for Performer 3.1, please arrange for a briefing with an SGI rep, under
NDA. Otherwise, I suspect we'll be announcing more around the time of ITEC.

Thanks!
Allan
