The trailing -0 is a build ID number; unrelated to the gcc version; this
problem must be something else.
For reference, we build the gcc 3.x version of Performer with :
gcc (GCC) 3.2 20020808 (Red Hat Linux Rawhide 3.2-0.3)
and the gcc 2.x version with:
gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
