Hello Performers,
I'm relieved to announce, the free web downloads of OpenGL Performer
3.0 are back up & running again with a new updated version. Please
visit our website at:
http://www.sgi.com/software/performer/
Click the "Downloads" link on the left.
To recap, the original downloads contained a bug such that after
January 01, 2003, Performer 3.0 applications on all platforms would
print "This beta for Performer has expired" and exit.
If you've downloaded the copy of OpenGL Performer 3.0 that has this
problem, please download the new version to get the fix.
IRIX & Windows users can install the new files directly over their
existing installation.
Linux users who installed the previous copy of OpenGL Performer 3.0
should remove their existing installation first, or you'll get error
messages "package <x> is already installed." Another option would be
to use the "--force" option when installing. For example:
# rpm -Uvh --force performer*.rpm
In other news, some users had been reporting an occasional http
server error when attempting to download the big Windows files.
We've tracked this down and moved the files to an ftp server so it
can handle the large file size (~200MB). Getting everything set up &
re-tested delayed restoring the downloads by a day or two but I think
you'll like the improvement. If anyone experiences any server errors
please contact us directly at performer-feedback++at++sgi.com
Thank you all for your patience!
Allan
