if you install the shader dev/eoe images you'll get lots of examples and
documentation. get the images here:
http://www.sgi.com/products/evaluation/#shader
after installing, check out the isl reference here for the definitive
answers to all things isl:
/usr/share/shader/doc/user/islspec.html
and a bunch of example shaders can be found here:
/usr/share/shader/src/shaders
as for the specific performer/pfshader questions, i'll defer to one of the
performer engineers. the isl stuff should be enough to distract you until
they reply. :)
