We have an almost identical configuration here (Dell 530, Xeon 2.0 GHz,
Quadro 700XGL), and we've gotten several versions of Performer and
Red Hat working fine. I think the key is to download the src.rpm kernel
driver from NVIDIA's site and build it with the kernel you're currently
using:
Download NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.src.rpm and NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2960.i386.rpm
and put in /tmp (or wherever is convenient)
rpm -Uvh NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.src.rpm
cd /usr/src/redhad/SPECS
rpm -ba NVIDIA_kernel.spec
rpm -Uvh ../RPMS/i386/NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.i386.rpm
cd /tmp (or wherever you downloaded the rpm's)
rpm -Uvh NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2960.i386.rpm
In one of the "Device" sections of /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, make sure you
change:
Driver "nv"
to:
Driver "nvidia"
Then reboot.
Hope this helps...
