My instincts say it's likely that "something else" changed on the system.
Maybe an updated OpenGL driver? Finding exactly where the crash occurs will
be a good way to narrow it down. Do a few things:

  - turn your PFNFYLEVEL up to 7 (setenv PFNFYLEVEL 7 if csh/tcsh)
    & see if this gives any clues

  - run /usr/share/Performer/bin/rmsem (cleans up leftover semaphores)
    just in case this is the overall problem (but performer would be
    printing an error message telling you to do this, if it was)

  - run perfly through the debugger (gdb perfly) & get the stack trace
    for the crash..
