  Folks,

We just purchased a Sun Blade 1000, 8mb memeory, Sun OS
release 5.8 (don't ask me why...I would have bought an Octane for what
they paid for the Sun box)

My dilemma now is that I've been ask to use the Sun for simulation
development. (YIKES!!!) I've been a SGI user since the
giddiup....indigo, onyx, etc..) I've never seen a Solaris used for this
purpose except for 2d client side stuff like MODSAF, JSAF, JANUS,etc.
I'm a VEGA, Performer, and MultiGen user. My question: Can I use this
purple paperweight afterall? I mean, is there an emulator out there
that supports my software on this Solaris OS? What can I do? What are
my options? (besides placing flower pots and picture frames on this
  workstation!)

  help!
