I don't know for certain, but my first suspicion is that the combination of
Performer compiled with gcc3 and Inventor compiled with gcc2 is causing the
incompatible C++ name mangling. Try matching them up, either by recompiling
Inventor with gcc3, or downloading Performer for gcc2.
