[info-performer] RH7.3 + Performer 2.5.1 + gcc 3.1

I attempted to install Performer 2.5.1 on Red Hat 7.3
and I get the following error in Perfly:

perfly: relocation error: /usr/lib/libpfutil.so.2:
undefined symbol: _Unwind_Resume

I then upgraded to gcc 3.1 and still receive the same
error. Do I need to go back to 2.96? Any ideas?
