Dear Scene Graphers,
Scene graphs have become a de-facto standard to structure data for realtime
rendering applications. A whole bunch of scene graphs have been developed and
are being used and advanced actively.
There is no forum at SIGGRAPH for scene graph people to get together and talk
about developments and cooperations. For the last couple years the OpenGL BOF
was used for that as most scene graph people are there anyway, but as the
scene graphs were taking over a significant part of the event the OpenGL BOF
organizers requested the presentations to be about OpenGL only, and not just
programs who happen to use OpenGL.
Thus I decided to start an alternative venure for the scene graph people as a
separate BOF.
This BOF will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd, from 18:15 to 19:15 in the Alamo
Ballroom, Salon A of the Marriott Riverwalk, right across from the Convention
Center. It is right before the OpenSG BOF and after the Open Scene Graph BOF
and in the same room, so you can get a high dose of scene graphs without
having to move. :)
All scene graph developers are welcome, just as well as scene graph users.
The agenda is pretty open, so if you have suggestions send me an email. It
would probably be interesting for the audience if the scene graph developers
attending would be willing and able to give a short (<=5 minutes)
introduction to their systems, we'll have a projector if you want to show
slides or demos. I'd also like to talk a little about Lodestone.
You're welcome to spread this invitation to interested people that I haven't
reached.
Hope to see you there
Dirk
