Check for the existence of:
/usr/lib/Performer/Debug/libpfdb/libpfiv.so

If it is not there, you could build your own from sources in:
/usr/share/Performer/src/lib/libpfdb/libpfiv

This requires open inventor development libs.
While you're building anyway, fix the transparency bug
by removing the comment from line 1717 of pfiv.C
