You'll need a coax cable and a terminator. This message means the pipes
are not genlocked, which is very bad for a multi-pipe application. You
need to connect the sync output of pipe 0 to the genlock input of pipe
1, then run "setmon -g -p 1" to enable the 2nd pipe (pipe 1) to sync
from the genlock source. Or, you can use ircombine instead of setmon.
After it's all done, run "/usr/gfx/gfxinfo -v | grep Sync" and make sure
pipe 1 reports "Genlocked - True"

'man genlock' for the precise terminology; we're software guys. :-)
Also, if it doesn't work out, call SGI tech support and they can walk
you through the procedure.

[It looks like Svend's first message got trapped, it contained a big
postscript file with these details. If anyone is interested, reply back
to me (or svend) and we'll send you the original copy.]
