[info-performer] Non square clip textures?

Is it possible to use clip textures that are non-square? I've searched
through the online archives and the only thing I've found is a thread from
1998 that suggests stuffing a non-square clip texture into square one.
I'd like to use a clip texture that has dimensions of 32768x16384. Has
there been any improvements with regards to non-square clip textures?
