Daniel....

How many slices are there and what are the dimensions of each slice ? Try altering the scale appropriately when viewing the volume, ie if there where 100 slices, each 1000 by 1000 and aligned in X and Y, then set the X and Y scale to 10 and the Z scale 1. If you were using volview to view the volume the -scale 10 10 1 command line argument does this.

You would have to sub-sample the data to reduce the size in texture mem, i.e. shrink each slice. The most conveinent way to do this for large numbers of images I find is with ImageVision Tcl scripts using imgtcl, see the imgtcl man page and ImageVision Library programming guide for more details.

I want to create a 3D texture image from a bunch of .png images or .rgb images. I am using the iflto3dtiff program from the Volumizer2/src/util/tiff/

There is however a problem with the created 3Dtexture file. It is not as nice as the ones fromVolumizer/data/medical/Phantom/CT.Head.Small.char.tif . My images does not have the foggy continuity as the one above. I attached a snapshot of my 3Dtexture image.

And the 3Dtexture are extremely large ~1GB. Which is the best way to make them smaller? Make the 2D images smaller vi imgcopy to .gif?

I am extremely grateful for any suggestion how to move on!! //Daniel
