I'm converting some quadric surface code to Performer and
noticed that while Performer is 1:1 with OpenGL for triangle
fans and triangle strips, it doesn't have quadrangle strips.
Is there some technical reason for this? Wireframe rendering
suggests that quadrangle GeoSets are automatically converted
to triangles, but other polygons are not. Something to do
with culling or collision detection perhaps?
