Hi Rob !

I don't know how to prevent loading of external references.
However, I'd like to make some comments on database paging:

- The fastest loading format for Performer is pfb (Performer binary). It is
  the recommended format for database paging because loading speed matters.

- When paging, you often load pages over and over. Any loader with small
  memory leaks will eventually run out of memory. The pfb loader is kept
  leak-free very religiously. As for other loaders - you should try
  /usr/share/Performer/src/pguide/libpf/C/deleteGraph on any file format and
  watch for memory growth over time. deleteGraph loads and deletes a collection
  of models over and over.
