Couldn't detail texture be seen as a special case of multi texture? In
that case, I think Geforce should be able to "emulate" detail texture.
Are there no plans of implementing such an emulation in Performer?

Perhaps you could emulate LOD fading using normal alpha blending instead
of multisampling?
