Performers,

We've been hinting that something big was coming, that there would
be a major Performer-related announcement at ITEC 2002 --- and if
you haven't heard the news that's swept through the conference,
have we got something exciting to tell you!

At the ITEC Friends of Performer meeting, SGI announced that work
is underway to make OpenGL Performer available for the Microsoft
Windows platform. The port is one of several major additions we
are making for the next version of OpenGL Performer, version 3.0.
Results are already _very_ promising. Performer 3.0 will release
simultaneously for IRIX, Linux, and Windows at the end of this year.

We anticipate you'll have many questions about pricing, availability,
licensing model, distribution model, etc. More information will be
made available as we get closer to the release date. We would also be
pleased to discuss these topics and the details of the new features &
capabilities coming in Performer 3.0 under a NDA. Please contact
your SGI account representative to arrange a briefing; or contact us
at performer-feedback++at++sgi.com.

And of course, the team is hard at work adding the next generation
of advanced features and implementing many of the enhancements
that you have requested. We're looking forward to a very active
early-access program for Performer 3.0, and hope to have your
participation! For this as well, please contact your SGI account
rep or performer-feedback++at++sgi.com.

Be seeing you,

Allan
